Terms, Privacy & Refunds
Last updated: 7 June 2026
This page explains the rules for using SafetyDoneSafely, how your personal information is handled, and how refunds and cancellations work. It's written in plain English so it's easy to follow.
1. Terms of Use
Who we are
SafetyDoneSafely ("we", "us", "our") is a service operated by Steven Simpson, a sole trader based in England, trading as SafetyDoneSafely. You can reach us at steve@safetydonesafely.co.uk.
What we provide
We provide access to a library of web-based applications ("the apps") covering areas such as safety, business, health, education and finance. Some apps are free to use; most require a paid subscription.
Using our service
By using SafetyDoneSafely, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You agree to:
- Use the apps lawfully and for their intended purpose
- Keep your login details secure and not share your subscription with others
- Not attempt to copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or misuse the apps
- Not use the service in any way that could harm it or other users
Important: the apps are tools, not professional advice
Please read this carefully. Our apps are designed to help and support you — but they do not replace professional judgement, qualified advice, or any legally-required assessment carried out by a competent person. This is especially important for safety, health, financial and compliance tools.
For example, a safety or compliance app supports your record-keeping and decision-making, but does not constitute a formal risk assessment, nor does it guarantee compliance with any law, regulation or standard (such as HSE guidance). A finance tool helps with calculations and record-keeping but does not provide tax or financial advice. Always check official sources and consult a qualified professional where appropriate. You remain responsible for your own decisions and for meeting your own legal obligations.
Availability
We work hard to keep the service running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Apps may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We may add, change, or remove apps over time.
Our responsibility to you
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any loss that arises from your use of (or inability to use) the apps, or from relying on their output. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let subscribers know. The latest version will always be on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
2. Accounts & Logins
To use most of the apps, you'll create an account and log in. This section explains how accounts work and what we each expect.
Who can create an account
You must be 18 or over to subscribe and create an account, as a subscription is a paid contract. By signing up, you confirm you're old enough and that the details you give us are accurate.
Your login is yours
- Please keep your login details secure and private — you're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Accounts are for one person. Please don't share your login or your subscription with others, or let other people use your access.
- If you think someone else has got hold of your login, let us know straight away at steve@safetydonesafely.co.uk and we'll help.
Logging in through Base44
The apps are built and hosted on a platform called Base44, and payments are handled by Stripe. That means when you create a login or make a payment, you're also using their systems — so you're subject to their terms and privacy policies as well as ours. You can read them at base44.com and stripe.com/legal.
Suspending or closing accounts
We'd only ever do this if we had to — but we may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, shares access, or misuses the service. If we close your account for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund any time you've paid for but can't use.
If you cancel or close your account
You can cancel any time (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy below). When your subscription ends, your access to the paid apps stops at the end of the period you've paid for. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data, though we may need to keep certain records for legal and accounting reasons.
3. Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to run the service. This explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
- Account & contact details — such as your name and email address, when you subscribe or get in touch.
- Payment information — handled securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Information you enter into the apps — depending on the app, this may include records you create (for example, mileage logs or maintenance records). This is used to provide the app's function to you.
- Basic usage information — such as which apps are used, to help us improve the service.
Why we collect it
- To provide the apps and your subscription
- To take payment and manage your account
- To respond to your questions and provide support
- To improve and maintain the service
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We only share it with trusted services that help us run SafetyDoneSafely, such as:
- Stripe — to process payments securely
- Base44 — the platform the apps are built and hosted on
- Netlify — which hosts this website
These providers have their own privacy policies and handle data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as you have an account, or as long as needed to meet legal and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (subject to any records we must keep by law).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these, just email us at steve@safetydonesafely.co.uk.
Cookies
This website uses only essential cookies needed to make it work and to process payments securely. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Our 14-day money-back guarantee
We want you to be happy. If you subscribe and decide it's not for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll give you a full refund — no quibble.
Your legal cancellation rights
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day "cooling-off" period to cancel an online purchase. For digital services that you start using straight away, this right can be affected once you begin using the service — but our money-back guarantee above gives you that protection regardless.
Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel any time. When you cancel:
- You'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for
- You won't be charged again after that
- We don't charge any cancellation fees
To cancel, just email us at steve@safetydonesafely.co.uk and we'll take care of it for you.
Refunds after 14 days
After the first 14 days, subscription payments are generally non-refundable, but if something has gone wrong or an app isn't working as it should, please get in touch — we'll always try to put things right.
How refunds are paid
Refunds are made through Stripe to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 working days.
